Authentic Flavors, Heartfelt Service

Fourteen years ago, Jose Luis Perez, the owner of El Primo, established his family's livelihood with a food court stall at Dobie Mall on the UT campus. His goal was to offer authentic Mexican cuisine to both students and Austin residents.

Behind every fully-loaded taco is a family journey that began in Michoacán, Mexico.

El Primo and Burrito Factory have proudly remained family-owned since they first opened their doors in May 2004. The operation is run by father and daughter, who manage everything from the kitchen to the register.

Jose Luis the owner attributes the success of Burrito Factory to a simple phrase their father often repeated at their childhood meat market in Mexico: "Échenle ganas," or, "try your hardest."
